Food a Kill We

Fried fish, dumplings, bammy, with steam vegetables.
Talking with my wife early this morning. She's concerned about a friend who has lupus and is feeling much pain. The obvious discomfort is hard to bare, even if you're not the one feeling the pain.

What the hell is lupus? I need to do some research into the matter. But, what I do know is that it stems from our eating habits.

How did I come to that conclusion?

I have a relative and a friend that has the same problems. Both were fat. One remains fat, while the other has lost much weight. The good thing is they are still living years after they've being diagnosed with the illness. This means a lot.

It means that it's not as deadly as some illnesses, and can be put in check. My friend with the problem told me she researched the problem after her diagnosis and found out she has been eating herself to death.

She made a decision to stop eating certain foods, and to increase other types of foods. As I listen her at times I realize the foods that give the problems. They are the ones that processed the most.

Processed foods are the ones that are filling the population with all manner of diseases such as diabetes, heart problems, stoke, arthritis, certain cancers, to name a few. Somehow these processed foods create some abnormality within our bodies that cause it to break down after many years.

Two days ago a close friend told me that his son was in the hospital with internal bleeding. Another friend told me last Sunday that he just took his friend to the hospital because of intestinal discomfort. He vomited blood.

Even myself have had severe intestinal problems since I was a youth. I was able to bear it because I avoided fried foods most of the time. But, I didn't discard them totally, and it caused me to be hospitalized for peptic ulcer. I almost died from the problem.

Because of this problem I became interested in my diet. I read many books on the subject. My favorite being 'Back to Eden' by Jethro Kloss. It revealed to me the dangers of eating processed foods. But, despite having the information in my head, I still ate processed foods.

What happened? Hospital pick me up dying from pain or substances leaking in my abdomen.
The great tasting pizza.

Today, I eat much less processed foods. I'm practicing to come off them completely, but it's hard because my tastes are towards the processed ones.

That's the main problem. Processed foods capture the taste buds and kills the taste for natural foods.

Because our tastes have gone to unnatural foods, when diagnosed with diet related illnesses, we still continue to eat the killer foods.

For those who are diabetic, they find it difficult to keep away from the foods that cause their illness. I've experienced this since I was a youth. I know to stay away from fried foods, but I just couldn't keep away all the time.

To make matter worst, my wife and children love certain fried foods. And worst than that, I have to be preparing them at times. This makes more difficult to resist especially because I decided to make fried dumplings my family dish (like national dish).

Had to change because it was causing pure problems.

This is happening to many of use today. For those on the go it's even more dangerous because we lack the time to prepare natural foods, so we have to make do with the processed ones that are easy and quick to prepare.

However, if we don't take our health into consideration, we won't live long enough to enjoy the fruits of our labor. Most of us reach our financial prime as we get older. But, if we're sick in those years, our minds consider our health problems that enjoying life to the fullest.

There's much that can be said about these killer foods nowadays, but another time. What's your health problem? Do you think your habitual diet is causing the problems? Leave a comment and let me know what you think.
